Chris and I decided to go on a last minute vacation to Jackson WY and the Grand Tetons a few weeks ago. It was just Friday thru Sunday, but we had so much fun! We spent the weekend exploring the town and the Grand Teton Nation Park. We saw lots of wildlife including an eagle and two moose! I’ve never visited this area in the fall and I actually liked it better than in the summer. The weather was perfect, it wasn’t too crowded, and our trip was pretty inexpensive since it was the off-season.
Why it’s great to travel to Jackson and the Tetons in the Fall
It’s Cheaper: It’s not quite skiing season and everyone’s summer vacations are over, which means great deals. On Tuesday Chris and I decided to go on this little adventure. I went to Airbnb.com. There were so many options and lots of the prices were cut in half (I visited Jackson in the summer before and we had to book everything way in advance and it was all overpriced.)
You’ll Avoid The Crowds: I remember there were crowds of tourists everywhere and finding a place to eat without waiting 30 to 45 minutes was near impossible when I came in the summer. When Chris and I got to Jackson last week it was like a ghost town, which was super nice because I’m not really into crowds. In the Grand Teton National Park, it was so quiet and the hiking trails were basically empty. I loved being able to spend the whole weekend having fun, rather than fighting my way throw swarms of people.
The Weather Is Perfect: The weather was in the mid-60s during the day and in the 40s at night. That might seem a little cool, but if you plan on doing hiking or walking around, it’s perfect. It was so beautiful there; the Tetons were all snow-capped, the leafs were still changing color, and the air was crisp.
Life is short and so it’s important to take time to enjoy it. Chris is everything to me and I love that we can make memories and go on adventures together. This trip was just the perfect way to reconnect and spend time together. For me, this was the perfect fall adventure spot.
